April, 2009-Moving to our new (permanent!) location

We had a great turnout for our work day, probably 40 people came and went throughout the day. By the end of one glorious and windy Saturday, we had:
-- moved all remaining items from the old garden site
-- installed and filled 8 raised beds
-- filled our 2 cold frames
-- dragged the new red shed to where it had wanted to be all along
-- constructed a cattle panel tunnel for climbing plants
-- mulched all the walkways
-- and constructed and installed an entryway!

Thank you to all who participated in making this transformation happen!

November 2009 -- Healthy Lifestyles Community Event

We lucked out on the weather this day--a beautiful November Saturday after a string of nasty October weekends. With over 50 people in attendance, and lots of help from our PTA, we:
--installed some gorgeous split-rail fencing along the front of the garden
--installed one new tunnel greenhouse (this makes our third)
--enjoyed a performance by the Elementary Honor Choir (Thank you Mrs. Tummons!)
--enjoyed a potluck lunch to thank the many volunteers who make the Learning Garden such a fabulous place to be

A big thank you to our Boone County Health Department for their support of this event. The broccoli salad was great!
